A decade of keeping aircraft airworthy

In 2015, Lucia Soffientini and Gabriele Brescianino combined their 20+ years of experience in avionics, CAMO, and aircraft maintenance to establish Air Worthy, based in Lodi, Northern Italy.

With their complementary skills and a shared vision, they launched a specialist airworthiness consultancy and laid the foundation for what, a decade later, has become an internationally respected and trusted name in aircraft airworthiness management.

Having expanded its expertise and client portfolio by working with many airlines and aircraft lessors, Air Worthy has achieved several notable milestones in the past ten years.

A major turning point in Air Worthy’s journey came in 2020 when the business received its first Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation approval from ENAC, Italy's Civil Aviation Authority. This marked the official start of Air Worthy’s CAMO services. As part of the approval process, we developed our first Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME). This essential document outlines how we manage compliance, procedures and safety in accordance with EASA’s Part-M regulation. With this certification in place, Air Worthy was appointed to manage its first aircraft, a Cessna Mustang C510, operated by a private owner.

In 2022, Air Worthy began working with Challenge Air Cargo, supporting its import of their first Boeing 767 into EASA jurisdiction. Following this initial external support, the aircraft was managed by Challenge Air Cargo Malta CAMO team, who then appointed Air Worthy as the subcontracted CAMO provider.

It was a significant moment in our growth, marking the first time we delivered CAMO services on behalf of another approved organisation, underlining our capability, reliability and collaborative approach.

In the same year, Air Worthy undertook its first project with a lessor, conducting a records review for an Airbus A320 transition. This work forms a critical part of aircraft transitioning, ensuring that all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant, for a successful delivery or redelivery.

Air Worthy’s Accountable Manager, Gabriele Brescianino, reflected:

“Looking back over 10 years, it’s clear how vital aircraft transitioning has become to our work. Supporting lessors and airlines with accurate records and smooth handovers is a responsibility we take great pride in, and one we’ve built real expertise.”

Another proud milestone was supporting the first ever Boeing 767-300ER passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion completed in Europe. Air Worthy has steadily developed its status as a trusted specialist in the complex world of passenger-to-freight conversion programmes. A defining moment in that journey came in 2023 when we supported a pioneering Boeing 767-300ER P2F project for Challenge Group.

As part of this programme, Air Worthy conducted the airworthiness review and recommended the aircraft for import into EASA. Ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting a smooth transition into service, we were proud to be part of this ground-breaking achievement.

The critical job of monitoring aircraft airworthiness was strengthened following the launch in 2025 of Air Worthy’s innovative computer software, AWAS (Air Worthy Aircraft Software). Following over 18 months of programming, development and testing, the software went live with Air Worthy customer, Challenge Air Cargo.

Air Worthy decided to build its own CAMO software, with the support of a software specialist in Milan, which was unique to the aviation sector and could be customised to specific operational needs, as well as delivering an improved level of flexibility and usability across the CAMO process.

Web based with no server requirement, AWAS provides a secure, intuitive user interface, which enables workflow and project progress to be monitored in real time by Air Worthy’s CAMO team.

Commenting on the launch of AWAS, Air Worthy’s co-founder and Continuing Airworthiness Manager, Lucia Soffientini, said:

“By providing comprehensive airworthiness consultancy, Air Worthy offers a total solution for aircraft owners and operators. The launch of AWAS is an evolution of Air Worthy’s mission to uphold aircraft safety and deliver asset value throughout the service life of an aircraft and it will bring many benefits to the CAMO process.”

Air Worthy continues to build on its reputation as a leading provider of airworthiness consultancy services and looks forward to the next ten years of supporting the fast-growing aviation industry.
