AWAS: A unique and proven digital platform for CAMO

When Air Worthy first introduced its AWAS platform (Air Worthy Aircraft Software), the objective was to bring greater transparency, efficiency and control to CAMO management. Since then, AWAS has evolved into a fully proven CAMO platform, supporting multiple narrow and widebody aircraft types and operator customers.

What is AWAS?

Unique to the aviation sector, AWAS is a web‑based CAMO management platform, developed from the ground up by Air Worthy, with a specific focus on supporting the full lifecycle of aircraft continuing airworthiness. AWAS requires no server infrastructure and can be customised to specific operational needs, whilst delivering a high level of flexibility and usability across the CAMO process. The platform offers a secure and intuitive user interface, that enables workflows and project progress to be monitored in real time.

Key features include:

  • Aircraft records review and transitions
  • Maintenance planning and compliance monitoring
  • Live operational CAMO management
  • Flight data recording and defect tracking
  • Data export and system‑to‑system transfers

Optimised for aircraft transitions

One of AWAS’s core strengths is its ability to manage complex aircraft transitions efficiently and transparently. During records review, aircraft data is prepared using structured import templates, presented in clear, table‑based formats similar to Excel. This allows aircraft to be uploaded quickly into the system, reviewed in detail during the transition phase and brought under CAMO control with minimal disruption.

Just as importantly, when CAMO responsibility ends, all aircraft data can be exported cleanly. Where required, these datasets can be adjusted and successfully imported into third‑party systems such as AMOS, supporting a seamless handover to the next CAMO or operator.

This process has already been successfully applied across multiple aircraft and fleets.

This dual capability ensures continuity of data, reduces rework, and allows aircraft to move seamlessly between transition phases and operational service without changing systems.

Supporting live operations

AWAS is not limited to transitional activity. It is actively used to support day‑to‑day CAMO operations, including:

  • Maintenance planning and status monitoring
  • Work order preparation and export to MROs and DMROs
  • Daily updates of flight hours and cycles
  • Defect reporting, tracking and historical analysis

By consolidating maintenance and defect data within a single platform, AWAS also enables the generation of aircraft reliability information, allowing operators and CAMOs to analyse defect trends and operational performance over time.

A proven and reliable platform

After several years of deployment and an expanding customer base, AWAS is now a mature and fully stable CAMO system. User feedback has been consistently positive, particularly in relation to:

  • Ease of use
  • Logical workflows
  • Reliable data imports and exports

Most importantly, AWAS has proven itself where it matters most, supporting aircraft in service.  The result is a platform that supports compliance, efficiency and transparency without unnecessary complexity.

As Air Worthy continues to expand its CAMO activities and regulatory environments, AWAS remains a central element of its operational strategy.

Lucia Soffientini, Air Worthy’s Continuing Airworthiness Manager, said:

“Unlike software solutions focused solely on records reviews or lease return events, AWAS is designed to support the entire aircraft lifecycle, within a single, integrated platform. From daily flight operations to lease transitions, our unique platform manages the complete CAMO lifecycle and this has added value to our customers.”
